got the wrong W98SE cd :-((

Hi
A friend of mine have an old laptop (with a mindblowing 2Mb harddisk !!!) with W98,
which her son use at school.
Now the son want to do something which can only be done with W98SE. So the kind
mother buy her son a cd with W98SE - but the cd contains not a upgrade but "the
W98SE".
Running the CD gets a "there is allready Windows98 on the PC" and she can't just get
the upgrade or installing W98SE.
Can anybody help her :-)

That sounds like OEM.
Normally OEM is intended for a new computer and are incapable of an upgrade.
If this is the case, save all data and perform a Clean Installation of
Windows 98SE.
