Hello Discussion Group,

i have a GPO with a logon script in the user section. The script sets some
environment variables with SETX to the user environment.

The curious thing is, that the variables, set trough the script, arent
available if the user logs on the 1st time. Only after his 2nd logon attempt
on the terminal server.

The point on 1st logon is, there is no usere profile available! Has this
something to do why the variables couldn't be set, after the 1st logon
attempt?

With the first logon i mean, no user profile exist on the server. Is this
the cause why the env vars couldn't be set on the first logon attempt?.

Thanks in advance for your ideas and comments :-)

Roland,
make sure that you disable Fast Logon Optimization

I think you must enable the option: 'Run logon scripts asc', under computer
conf > admini templates > system > script

'-------------------
Directs the system to wait for the logon scripts to finish running before it
starts the Windows Explorer interface program and creates the desktop.

If you enable this setting, Windows Explorer does not start until the logon
scripts have finished running. This setting ensures that logon script
processing is complete before the user starts working, but it can delay the
appearance of the desktop.

If you disable this setting or do not configure it, the logon scripts and
Windows Explorer are not synchronized and can run simultaneously.

This setting appears in the Computer Configuration and User Configuration
folders. The setting set in Computer Configuration takes precedence over the
setting set in User Configuration.
