I have laptop and desktop users. I am in the process to implement a security
process where everybody will go through an http scanner to prevent any
spyware or virus attacks. The problem is that I need to setup a group policy
to change the LAN setting in IE to use a proxy server. This is a problem
because some laptop users work from home sometimes and that means they need
to uncheck this option. Not all my users are smart enough to remember to do
that. Is there a GP script or option that will disable that when users are
not connected to the network.

I remember there is a FW option in GP that you can disable when in the
office but will be enabled once you connect to another network. Please
advice.

Thanks,

That is a requirement that is pretty common. This is hard (not
impossible) to do with GP and would most of the time involve scripting.

I would suggest you look into WPAD:

Cheers,

Hi Dooma,

i assume not. Maybe you have to combine this with a local logon script on
the laptop wich disables this option via registry if the user works from
home.
