I have very many folders with images in them. On WindowsXP I liked the way
you could get a thumbnail representation of up to 4 images on the folder icon.
Now the folders look more real, (open and 3d) and the documents appear
inside (mapped in perspective) but far more difficult to identify due to the
distortion.
Anyway I can get the old 4 pictures up on a folder not distorted?

Not really. You could create a special file with 4 chosen images as a 4 way
set, and choose that file in the "Customize" tab of folder properties. Then
you would choose to view 'extra large icons' in that parent folder.

Thanks for your quick response Mark.
I realized that I could make my own icon for a folder with thumbnails I
choose, but I like the automatic method used for image representations. It's
pretty common that when we try to make things look better, or more real
recognition or readability can be an unintended casualty.
