Graphics Pasted Within Win Live Mail

I’m now using the new 2011 Windows Live Mail (WLM), with Windows 7 Home
Premium. I frequently place clipped graphics into e-mails, using either
ClipMate, the Snipping Tool which comes with Windows 7, or Screenpresso, all
of which are excellent, each having its own strengths.

I’ve noticed, however, that when I paste such a graphic into the WLM e-mail
I’m working on, it’s been compressed—so it’s neither the original size, nor
is the definition nearly as good. I can then expand it, but it’s still not
nearly as good as the original clip.

Does anyone know how to fix this such that what I’ve clipped is what I see
when pasted? Thanks!

ClipMate comes with Windows 7? Why can't I find it. I suspect it was
included in your OEM software package, because it surely isn't in my retail
box of Windows 7!

Hmm. I just tried a direct copy-and-paste using the native Windows
clipboard. It seems that embedding the picture results in compression, as
compared with attaching it. Not sure that there is a way to change that.

Hi, Norman,

Thanks for your reply. I didn't mean to imply that ClipMate came with
Windows 7; it didn't. Worth downloading, trying for free, and buying it. It
does so much more than just clipping text and graphics. I've used it for at
least ten years and it's the most important utility that I have, especially
if you do any amount of writing at all. www.clipmate.com.

Dunno. It is set for 'us-ascii', and most of the other posts I've made in
the last couple of days are showing up in 'us-ascii'.
