grouping shapes with lines inside

I am drawing circles with lines inside- the grouping option will not work!
How do I set the final shape so that it will all group?

You forgot to tell us in what program you are attempting to draw lines.
If this is a MS Office program, a better place to post your question
will be in the appropriate Office program newsgroup.

You have to select all the components of what you want to group before you
hit the group button...
