Grr...I can't change my display name to participate in the i'm pro

I have downloaded Windows Messenger 8.1 and I went to change my display name
so I can start making money for my favorite non-profit and I cannot change my
display name, which is currently my e-mail. There are no instructions in
help, so I don't know what to do?? Can someone help me?

Tools > Options > Personal section, at the top, there is a box to type in
your Display name. You must be signed in to change it.

Just go to OPTIONS; then TOOLS and over there you will find a field for your
isplay name. Type it fllowing the code you want to help. Voila!! You got it!

I was signed in and I could see the display name field, but it is grey and I
am not able to click in it to make any changes. I have followed the exact
instructions of both the previous posters and I cannot make any changes to it
all??

You need to get your e-mail address verified. If you don't, you can't
change the name.

To verify your address, you need to click the verification link in the
verification e-mail that sgiykd gave been sent to you when you set up the
e-mail address as a Windows Live ID.

If the e-mail didn't make it, you can go here to have the e-mail resent:
https://accountservices.passport.net...arnd=0&lc=1033

Make sure you check your spam folders and such, as it could have got caught
in there.
