Guest Machine not booting

I transferred two vhd's over to my new computer, currently running Vist
Home Premium x64. Both guest machines are running XP Professional

One boots without any issues. The other machine stays at the Windows X
screen without ever going into Windows or encountering any errors. I ca
boot into safe mode successfully on that machine

Any idea how to remedy this situation? I know that Vista Home Premiu
is unsupported with Virtual PC 2007, but hoping there is a way t
recover this machine successfully

Thoughts

There's a hotfix for VPC2007sp1 that includes Vista Home as a
supported host. I just posted the KB related to it on another thread.

When you boot into safe mode, try removing the VM Additions and
restarting.

When I try and install the hotfix rollup KB958162, I get this msg

'The upgrade patch cannot be installed by the Windows Installer servic
because the program to be upgraded may be missing, or the upgrade patc
may update a different version of the program to be upgraded exists o
your computer and that you have the correct upgrade patch.

The file version Virtual PC.exe is 6.0.156.0 dated 2/18/2007

Any thoughts

You need to apply SP1 first, then the hotfix.

I think VPC 2007 SP1 is version 6.0.192.0. You need to have that first.
