guid titled directory contains update folder and update.exe

i patched up a new pc over the weekend and now i have a directory with the
following title:
6ab65677e2d6cab0c9661afa91eb157c
this directory contains a subdirectory titled:
update
that contains an update.exe file

should i execute this update.exe or is this left over from an earlier
update and should have been deleted but wasn't?

It is a left over. You can just delete it.
