Had to turn off Automatic Upates to install Norton's

had to turn off Automatic Updates to install Norton's Anti-Virus and now I
turn it on and it will turn itself off after a short period of time. Any
suggestions?

One or more of NAV's "protections" (which are enabled by default) is
disallowing the change. Seek help at
