Halo 2 Vista Controller Problem

I recently bought a Mad Catz PC Con wireless controller that is in th
shape of an original xbox controller. When I tried to use this in Halo
Vista all the controls were scrambled because it thought I was using
360 controller.

I have worked with the Customer Support Supervisor of Mad Catz and w
have been unable to think of a solution apart from this one.

By using a program called Xpadder you can map keys of a keyboard t
buttons on a controller. But when I try this Halo 2 overrides th
changes and still gives me the scrambled buttons. By somehow no
allowing Halo to access my controller I could still use it with Xpadder

Is there anyway of doing this as we have run out of options

Honestly, these 3rd party manufactures have been producing crap controllers
for years, the software they've insisted on bundling has always been
terrible.

I'd just use an Xbox 360 pad.

You can buy any pad today and it should closely mimic the 360 control
layout. If the controller you have is older it's possible it's different
from the 360 layout, so you can use it, but you just have to adapt.

Logitech makes some nice wireless controllers that are fully compatible
with the XBox 360 layout. Actually the 360 controller I believe is a
Logitech design.

If buying another controller isn't an option, there may not be much you
can do other than to try Keyboard/Mouse. I don't want to tell you how to
play your FPS, but if you're willing to learn how to play a FPS on a
joypad you should try a Key/mouse setup sometime, I think you'll find it
more enjoyable an experience, but that's just one users opinion. (Oh and
the majority of the PGL (Prof. Gamers League), but what do those loosers
know?)
