Hand Icon On Shared Folder

Hi - A folder that I have on my computer is shared between two users. One
user has full access and the other can only run the programs in that folder
(not delete or alter the descriptions). This folder has a hand icon (palm
up) icon in the bottom left hand corner. This icon appears only on one
user's desktop (the one with full control) but not the other user's desktop.
I would like to get rid of the hand icon on the one user's screen. I don't
know if it has anything to do with the fact that, in the process of trying to
get the folder correctly set up for sharing, the folder at one time was in
the Public folders. It seems to be that that was when the hand icon
appeared. However, now that this folder isn't in the Public folder, the icon
is still there. Is there any way to get rid of that icon? Thanks.

The Hand Icon that you are seeing is a Graphical Representation of the
"Sharing" that is in place.

Hi,

Thanks for your reply. Is there any way to not show the icon though? I
don't understand why you can see the icon on one user's desktop but it
doesn't show up on the others. Thanks.

And the icon appears in the user account that you set the share in?

Hi,

Thank you for your reply. Yes the icon is in the user's account who set up
the share. It's on the folder icon on the desktop of the person who has
complete control of the folder. The other person's desktop (who has limited
control of the folder - can only run the programs in it) has the folder icon
but there is no hand icon there. Thanks for helping.
