I recently upgraded to Windows Live Messenger Version 8.0 (*Build
8.0.0812.00*) and I discovered that I can't use the handwriting tool at all.
The handwriting tool was working before I upgraded. I'm running Microsoft
Windows XP Tablet PC Edition 2005 OS, but I don't have a Tablet PC. In
Options, the Handwriting check box is checked. I uninstalled Windows Live
Messenger Version 8.0 (*Build 8.0.0812.00*), and reinstalled it, but the
handwriting tool still doesn't work at all. When I clicked on the handwriting
tool it said, "To use the Handwrite feature, you may need to install or
update software. For details on enabling or hiding the Handwrite feature,
click Help." So I clicked on Help and it brought me to the Send messages in
your own handwriting page.

I got Service Packs 1 and 2 installed already. I downloaded Microsoft
Windows Journal Viewer 1.5 and Microsoft Windows Journal Viewer Security
Update, but when I tried to install Microsoft Windows Journal Viewer 1.5 it
gave me this message: "Windows Journal Viewer is not intended for use with
Microsoft Windows XP Tablet PC Edition. Use Windows Journal to display
Journal notes on your tablet computer." As I said before, I'm using a Tablet
PC. I got totally lost on what else I can do to fix this problem. All I want
is my Handwriting tool back!! Is anyone else having the same problem? Can
anyone help me out so that I can use the handwriting tool again?

Greetings,

You didn't mention this, so I have to ask -- is Ink working in any of the other tablet
applications (Inkball, Windows Journal, Notes, etc.)?
