My APC UPS is connected to my PC and it shows up in Vista as a Battery Meter
in the Notification area and is managed the same way as a Laptop on batter
power is.

problem with mine is that my apc ups is old tech and use a com port so i
have to have a port replicator to use it, but usually with xp it wasn't a
problem, but for vista i can't find a service for ups and i tried to
download the apc software for vista they only support usb wire to connect to
ups. i think i'm outa luck, unless you have a better idea?.
