what happens if i cancel windows update?

It doesn't seem to work right now at all..2/3 has downloaded and then it
stucked. From my own computer the page will not even open.

I am pretty sure we do not even know what operating system you are running,
what service pack level that OS might be, what updates you might be trying
to get, in what way you attempted to download the updates, etc... ;-)

Sorry i think i was just trying to ask if there's any common problems with wu

But windows2000 sp4 and it went 2/3 of updates stopped to Windows Malicious
Software Removal Tool - July 2008 (KB890830)..
and i did take cancel but now it's stuck on that.
