Hard Disk installation

I just recently added a new hard disk that seemed to install successfully
(running win xp). I simply installed the hardware and restarted the machine
and windows recognized the new hardware. In the device Manager window the
second drive does show up and I can right click and view properties. My
problem is that the new disk is not showing up under My Computer. Any advice?

Look in Disk Management, to format the new disk

run compmgmt.msc /s
disk management
or control panel administrative tools computer management disk manangement

Already checked there but no option there for formatting. installed and ran
part magic - partioned the new drive and all is now well! Thanks for the
advice
