Hard disk space

I have a 2nd 300GB hard disk used for storing all media and documents. It
appears to be reading the disk space backwards? There is hardly anything on
this drive, but it is only showing 4.73 Gb free. What gives??

Some drives require a utility be installed before Windows can properly
determine the formatted capacity. What Brand and Model is this?
Check with the maker's website.

It's a maxtor, but what is strange is the OEM hard disc is doing the same
thing.
