Hard drivve space

I have a new HP Laptop that I have had about three months and it has a 100GB
hard drive in it. I am looking at the available disk space left on the drive
it shows only 10GB left and I have hardly loaded any software or data to this
computer. What would be eating all my space and how can I quickly figure out
where that data is stored so i can see if it is able to be removed?

Thanks
-Scott

Do you have automatic backup enabled?

Hi Scott,

If you look at step 17, you can tell if automatic backup is on if the
button has "Turn off" on it.

http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/10...kup-files.html

Other possibilities to check:

1) System Restore - You can check to see how much space is being used
(allocated) in this tutorial. See the related links in the tutorial if
you want to turn off System Restore.

http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/76...isk-space.html

2) HP Recovery Manager - Since you have a HP computer, it comes with
the HP Recovery Manager program. I would check to see if that has any
backup options set.

'HP Backup and Recovery Manager'

Hope this helps,
Shawn

Use a program such as ShowMan
<http://www.david-taylor.myby.co.uk/software/disk.html#ShowMan> or
SC-DiskInfo <http://www.soft-central.net/diskinfo.php> to tell you how
your disk is being used.
