Hardware Firewall Problem

In the last couple of weeks I've started to have problems with winupdate.

Previously winupdate was fine (OS's are W2KPro and WinXP Pro) and happily
operated behind a 3-com hardware firewall.

Now WinXP Pro no longer works and nor does a new server with Server 2003
installed. (W2KPro still works.)

Different MS error messages come up on the different pc's (3 in total) that
won't connect - none of the KB article fixes work.

But the bottom line is if I stop the hardware firewall, winupdate works on
all problem pc's; if the firewall is running it doesn't work.

The 3-com unit is a '3CR856-95 - Secure Gateway' connected permanently to a
cable connection.

Any ideas on a fix to get winupdate working /with/ the firewall in place.

power down your modem and firewalland computer after
computer is off set switch on back to off so no power
gets to it power on your modem and firewall in the proper
order turn swith on bak of computer on power up thats
what I had to do
