Has anybody gotten SUS to distribute to clients?

I have non-AD servers and AD servers with SUS installed. SUS downloads
patches from the internet no problem, but the work stations don't look to
the SUS servers for their updates. They look to MS servers. The clients
have no properties available to change that.

You can disconnect the internet from the network and the Workstation simply
fail to update. You can leave the internet disconnected as long as you
like. The book says that after about 18 hours, the work stations get a clue
about the SUS server. I've seen no instance where they ever get a clue to
look at the internal server.

I can log into the SUS server from anywhere on the network. However the
admin console doesn't tell you if any of the clients have been updated, only
the last time it downloaded from the MS servers, and a list of what has been
approved and not approved.

do any of your clients/ ad or non-ad pull updates from
your internal SUS server ? then ill hve a better answer
for you
