Suggestion 1: Rename temporary folder SoftwareDistribution
===========================================
1. Click Start, Run, type: cmd and press Enter. Please run the following
command in the opened window.

net stop WuAuServ

2. Click Start, Run, type: %windir% and press Enter.
3. In the opened folder, rename the folder SoftwareDistribution to SDold.
4. Click Start, Run, type: cmd and press Enter. Please run the following
command in the opened window.

net start WuAuServ

Please go to the Windows Update site to test this issue. If the error
persists, please go to the following suggestion.

Suggestion 2: Rename CatRoot2 folder
===========================
1. Close all the open windows.
2. Click Start->Run, type: %windir% and press Enter.
3. Locate and open the System32 folder.
4. Find the CatRoot2 folder, right-click on it, and select RENAME. Change
the name to CR2OLD. Make sure you press Enter after typing in the new name,
so the changes are executed.
5. Close this window.

Hello Steve,

Delete your IE browser's temporary internet files. IEbrowser > select Tools
from it's menu >then Internet Options, then press Delete files.

Close IE.

Then clear your system's %windir%\SoftwareDistribution\Download folder.

For reference, see Taurarian's response at

I haven't tried yet :-) You've had no problems?

Thanks again,

FYI, I did not state that I had had no problems. Only that I did manage to
get the updates & have them install.
There had been one or two connection issues (for me) with the server, but
that cleared up last evening.

I had only 1 install failure, which I later resolved by a) cleaning up temp
areas, then b) getting the 1 update from the MS Download Center, and then
doing a manual install (user initiated install).
Hope this clears things up.
