Hi,

I'm sure i'm not the only person who's bitched, bitching about Vista but
it's now just getting on my wick that much with its slowness, stupid
security crap and Unwillingness to work with any other piece of equipment
that i now want to format this piece of crap computer and Install my old
faithfull Windows XP on to my computer.

Ok what I want to really know is:

1. How do i format the computer in the first Instance, can i just
input my old XP disc into the drive and format the computer that way Ie:
Formatting Vista off my computer and Installing Windows XP as My Operating
System ?

2. I have a disk with my old drivers and the Service packs 1 & 2 that I
needed when I Formatted my XP Operating system occasionally, do I need
anything else or is there anything else I will require along with these
disks.

My computer is as follows:

Model: Hewlitt Packard t3725.uk.desktop pc
Processor: AMD Sempron(tm) processor 3400+ 1.80 GHz
Memory Ram: 446 Mb
SystemType: 32 bit Operating System

Thanks for the help in advance.

What induced you to try Vista in the first place? Did you run the
compatibility test first?
Personally I would use 'boot & nuke', a free download, to wipe all traces of
Vista then do as you have done in the past and re-install XP.

Your machine may run Vista better if you use 1 - 2 gigs of ram...

However to reinstall XP...simply boot from your CD and delete all...
then reinstall fresh

As said b4, just upgrade your Ram, if thats all you have installed.
It will run much better, with 1-2 or more gigs of Ram.
You can turn UAC off if you want to, better to put up with that though.
Keep Vista, just get more Ram, almost all new Equipment as you say, should
work well with Vista and alot of old stuff, just depends on how old it is.
XP is better for games, why not do a Dual Boot, like most of us, install XP
1st then Vista then you have the best of both worlds.
If you do a Dual Boot install XP on a D:\drive Partition and Vista on the
C:\drive.

I hated Vista until I turned off UAC. Then it became OK again. (UAC
makes that annoying safety message that's constantly asking for
permission to continue.)

And I got Stardock's WindowBlinds because I didn't care for the Vista
color scheme, but turning off UAC is what really made it a decent OS again.
(User Access Control.) UAC is really easy to turn off.

Control Panel -> Classic View -> User Accounts -> Turn on/off UAC

I'm wanting to do the same thing. I've been told:
1) Save a copy of your recovery file (that's everything --drivers,
preinstalled software, etc ---except the OS.
2) Save yourr OS disk
3) The XP disk will, I'm told, ask when started if you want to format
the C:\drive first. Format and install.
