Haunted PC after hibernate!

Hi!. My PC with Intel Core 2 Duo and Windows Vista Home Premium is turning on
after hibernation. Sometimes this happens 2 or 3 hours later and sometimes it
turns off. I've asked MS about this but they told me it's just a service or a
program. I've reviewed all my system and I can't find anything strange. This
trouble is driving me crazy! Please.... Help!

Hi,

It doesn't have to be something strange, it can be something totally
innocuous. Check the task scheduler, and also antivirus/antimalware program
settings for scheduled scans.

I've also found that Media Center will wake the machine up for downloads of
the media guides and if an recordings are scheduled.

I believe that downloading Microsoft updates is, by default, scheduled for
3 AM and would therefore wake the machine up at that time. Hibernation
may not be exactly what you want - try shut down when you don't want
the machine to wake.
