Have followed all steps but still have windows update problem

Hi all. When i try to windows update, it tells me i dont have the most
rescent version of ie and windows on my computer. I have checked and i have
all the latest versions.

When i follow the link to upate and try and update it tells me i have the
latest versions installed?

I have followed the instructions panda_man gave me. I have run the following
to check for problems:

Ad-aware se
registry mechanic
Bull guard antivirus
Trendmicro house call
Panda antivirus
Microsoft antispyware
cwshredder
windows malicous software
and spybot.....

Any others i should try? I found varois bits and bobs but nothing seemed to
fix the problem, as when i try to windows update is still says i dont have
the most current version which i do!!!

Any other ideas as im going mad!!! thanks again

update:

for some reason i can now update windows, and accress the windows clean
centre, but the clean centre gets stuck at 21% when i try and download/run
the scanner. Any ideas? cheers Toby

1 - What was done to fix it?
2 - What the hell is clean center?
