i have a problem with windows update and the security center

i'm trying to get the service pack 2 for my win xp but i can't download it
from the microsoft web site. it gives me problems with windows update and
doesnt allow me to install it.even if i download the service pack from other
sources it doesn't allow me to install it. what can i do?
