I have several error codes that stop the update process

Codes 57A, 643, 80070641.

Any help?

To find out if you have a 32 bit system (x86) -
Click Start, Select Run, now type in: msinfo32

For Vista

Click Start button, click Control Panel, click System and Maintenance and
finally click Welcome Center.

details near the top of the window.

As for the error codes -

what your problems could be - If I'm wrong, feel free to post back with more

My guesses :-
0x80070641
ERROR_INSTALL_SERVICE_FAILURE - The Windows Installer Service could not be
accessed. This can occur if the Windows Installer is not correctly
installed.
When you try to install an update for the .NET Framework 1.0, 1.1, 2.0, 3.0,
or 3.5, you may receive Windows Update error code "0x643" or Windows
Installer error code "1603"
