Have you deleted the SP1 backup files?

Just wondered how many of you have been happy enough with SP1 to remove
the installation backup files by running this executable: vsp1cln.exe

I find SP1 to be working just fine, and I'm about to enter a committed
relationship by deleting the backup files so I can't return to non-SP1.

Hi EPJ,

I have used it and it saved me 1.6 GB of space on the hard drive. So
far I have not had any problems or complaints about the SP1.

Thanks for the feedback, Shawn. That's a good chunk of space that got
freed up.

SP1 is working beautifuly for me as well, but I'm not sure I'm ready to
remove the installation files just yet. I'll wait at least a month (till
April 18th), or maybe a little longer. If no problems surface within that
time, then I might consider removing them. Why the hurry? I see no reason
really, unless disk space is a concern?

I've gotten rid of my old files. No problems...yet!

Two weeks, so far so good.

1.6 GB represents one half of one percent of my hard drive storage space. I
think I might as well leave them for a while. I also have a second drive
that is almost double the size of my Vista install drive. I also have an
external drive that hold 1 TB. So I am not suffering for hard drive space.

I deleted mine after 2 weeks. No problems so far and is an improvement.
The transfer rate has vastly improved with SP1

I've encountered one minor problem over the last week or so that I need to
run to ground. Probably not SP1 related, but better to be on the safe side.
Once that is done, I'll be getting rid of the backup files. (Sorry if this
is a double post. I'm on the web interface right now and it made me log back
on just as I hit post on the last reply.)

I have had zero problems with SP1, and I don't expect any either.

Nevertheless, my view on removing files like this is that there is
only one good reason to do so: because you are extremely short of disk
space (and even then, the real solution to that problem is to buy a
bigger drive).

No matter how happy you are on the other side of the river, why burn
your bridges behind you?

Someone said it was 1.6GB. At today's hard drive prices, that's under
$1.50's worth (US dollars) of disk space--about the cost of a cup of
coffee. Contrary to considering it a "a good chunk of space," I
consider it next to nothing.
