help I havent seen my family in a week.

due to a failure on the MB I purchased an new acer system to replace it
with.....
i swapped out the HDD...ok!! ok!! it was desprate times.

I got a new key from MS, seemed to be doing fine for a couple of days and
then begain the blue screens and freezes. i think it is related to HDD I ran
chkdsk and it fixed 5 file sys errors ( dont rember exaxt term). ran a few
hours and crashed again i didnt write down codes but there seems to be a
couple of times the first code block ended with 7A I am assuming it refers
to HDD. i repair installed vista and again it ran for a few hours and
....bsod. i have now gone back to restore point and hoping that it will run
long enough for me to send this SOS.

problem computer:
Vista bussiness
vista score is 3
AMD athlon 64 x2
2G ram
320 HDD
30 days since last back ( that is 30 days worth of records and contains the
last 10 years of bussines records)

I still have a second drive with the backup file from the old computer but
has old key might be a problem.

new key was directly entered and not written down.

I have two brand new WDC 320 HDDs

I have a lap top running vista bussiness that is connected thru wireless lan
and only a 80G HDD.

I intended to use one of the new HDD for backups (not sure if i want to
backup a crashing system)?

dont know if restore will work?

been running for two hours now

any advice on where to go from here.....
thanks
chuck

Look in Event Viewer to find details of what is going wrong.

Start/Orb, type event, click on Event Viewer.

Once you tell us what is actually going wrong folks will help...
