having a lot of problems with Windows vista basic

l had bought my lappy Compaq6200 one year ago.Being a student i have
to load softwares.i had always faced problem reagrading
compatibility Issues.I am need of Visual studio 2005 for .net but not
able to run it in my lappi
Could You pls suggest me some kind of solution

You did apply the VS 2005 service pack for Vista, right? An when you run
VS 2005, you have set the property Run As Administrator on the
short-cut or exe when starting VS?

Visual Studio 2005 runs on Vista. You will need to install sp1 AND
an additional Vista service pack but this should be prompted through the
installation routine.

Visual Studio 2003 will NOT run on Vista according to the docs and
I haven't found a way to make it do so.
