Having trouble downloading- file not there

Whenever I try to download anything, then try to open it, all it shows for
that file is a shortcut and the file isnt there.

Do you mean an internet type shortcut, or a file shortcut? What is it a
shortcut to? Give an example of what you are trying to download.

I'm having trouble downloading as well. Nothing shows up at all after I try
to download files/.
