Having trouble getting Windows Update to work

I usually get the updates manually, through the website. Today, I've been
having trouble. First I got an error Error number: 0x8024400A, which I read
about and that seems to be resolved now. However, when I go to get the
updates it just keeps searching and searching for the updates but it doesn't
connect to that part of the site.

Anyway help would be greatly appreciated.

Try registering the following:

Click Start, select Run and type (pressing enter after each one and wait for
the success message):

net.exe stop wuauserv
Press Ok

Repeat for the following:
regsvr32 wuapi.dll
regsvr32 wups.dll
regsvr32 wuaueng.dll
regsvr32 wuaueng1.dll
regsvr32 wuweb.dll
regsvr32 jscript.dll
regsvr32 wucltui.dll
regsvr32 msxml3.dll
regsvr32 softpub.dll
regsvr32 atl.dll

net.exe start wuauserv

Sometimes you have to reboot.
