Your computer is shutting down and restarting from within Windows or when
you first turn the computer on and start to do the restore?
To restore your HP computer to factory condition, put your recovery disk
into the drive and restart the computer. You may need to change the boot
order in the BIOS or press a key to get a temporary boot order menu. Boot
from the CD drive and do an Advanced restore, which will be a destructive
restore and take your computer back to factory condition.
If the computer shuts down/restarts while doing this restore - outside of
Windows - you have hardware issues and will need to contact HP tech
support.
