I reformated my laptop and installed everything again, I have XP home edition
SP2 (Spanish), I then run a windows update log and found that 2 security
components had not ainstalled, after a long battle installing them, I then
run consecutevely a few logs and restarted my laptop, and they still appeared
not installed (The error symbols) I then downloaded the MBSA and run a check
of everything and it looks as though everything is installed correctly....Can
you please tell me why doesn't the windows update detect them as installed
and how can I refresh the windows update..better still I want to wipe the log
on the windows update..How can I do that?..My XP home edition is in
Spanish...(this should'nt make a difference as I do everything in Spanish) I
am no expert..Please help me understand this... thank you...

Updates are not installed successfully from Windows Update, from Microsoft
Update, or by using Automatic Updates after you repair a Windows XP
installation:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/943144

NB: Also applies to clean installs, upgrade installs, and Recovery installs.
