Headphones setting? Where is it? Please implement!

Why isn't there a headphones setting like XP has? Stereo, Quad, 5.1 and 7.1
are there but no Headphones? CSS doesn't allow me to choose headphones in
game and resets itself to Stereo. I have an X-fi and have the Audio HQ
installed and I have it set to Headphones but CSS isn't as distinctive as it
was in XP. I find it harder now to pin point enemy location. In XP it was a
lot more distinctive. BTW, I'm using Vista now because I got fed up with the
datacache.dll error in Source games.

ever since my daughter loaded oovoo, we have had weird problems with th
sound. Plug in headphones and it comes thru speakers and headphones
Other times it comes thru only the speakers. I right click on th
speaker icon in the task bar and then click on playback devices an
sometimes it shows speakers and headphones and other times it shows on
or the other. You never know. If it shows the one I am hoping for,
click on it to test it. After that I save it and then restart th
browser and it works. If I take my head phones out and then plug the
back in, it comes thru the speakers and I have to go thru the whol
process all over again. This time there is no headphones icon in th
playback devices so I will restart the PC and try again and hope for th
best.
No idea why this is happening. It was fine before oovoo

Then uninstall "oovoo" and if things return to normal and you feel you
absolutely must have this "oovoo", contact their tech support for patches,
workarounds, etc.

1 , Temporarily ? uninstall oovoo and see if they work OR
2 , get a cheap comp for your daughter .

Yes, I will likely try that soon. She's been chatting with her fianc
and I have been asking them to try Gmail chat instead to see if it make
a difference. I just threw oovoo out there to see if anyone had simila
experience
