Headset Microphone in WLM

I have a headset that is not a USB headset (one plug goes in the headphone
jack, the other into the microphone jack). Windows recognizes this
microphone in other applications, but WLM will not recognize this mic when I
go through Audio/Video Settings wizard. It's not listed in the dropdown
menu. And Logitech (the headset manufacturer) says there is no software
needed for this headset.

So what can I do to get WLM to recognize this non-USB headset.

Turned out to be that I needed an updated audio driver from my laptop
manufacturer (Dell). Once I installed the Vista driver, it worked.
