Me, I'm royally ****ed that Microsoft posted a bad link at Windows Update
and won't post the related KB article so we can know what the optional patch
does.
I did find a German site (not a Microsoft site) that lists the files which
are updated and the new version numbers, but not why they are updated;
someone there figured out that much on their own.
What's remarkable is that most of the queries I find in newsgroup searches
are from German or Polish users. I guess the hip English speaking users
don't even use Outlook Express for mail and news, but I do.
And this is the second or third day that Microsoft has left that bad link in
place, even though I reported it.
I guess Microsoft employees don't care, they just work there.
Someone there is overdue for an adverse personnel action, in my opinion.
Meanwhile, I don't download optional patches that have no description of
what they do. Looks like I'll be waiting for a long time.
