HELP: am I getting hacked?

how can I be sure that I'm getting hacked?

I was recommended the following software to revise my computer

Ad-Aware
Spybot Search and Destroy
Spyware Blaster
CWShredder
Hijackthis

any comments on those? why do I need so many? what does each of those
do?

I think there are some malicious programs in my computer since the
last time I got my pc from service.

Please help. thanks in advance.

I think ZoneAlarm with Antivirus (by Zone Labs) or Pest Patrol (by Computer
Associates) are the best. They've seem to be protecting my computer. The
only time it doesn't is when my boy-friend shuts it down or uninstalls. I
just reinstall after though! LOL!
