Welcome to the NG, Rpviet.

I'm not very good at determining what the problem is by only looking at
the dump files, so maybe you can give me some more infomation?

In particular, what is the error message displayed in the BSOD, what is
the STOP code, and does it specify any filename such as *.dll, *.drv or
*.sys?

If the BSOD does not show long enough for you to see (and reboots the
computer), then follow this procedure:

- Click the "Start Orb"
- Right-click on Computer, then select Properties
- Click Advanced System Settings. You'll need to respond to a UAC
prompt. Click Continue, or ask you parents to enter the password for
you if you're on a Limited User account.
- Under "Startup and Recovery", click Settings
- Under "System Failure", remove the check for the option
"Automatically Restart"
- Click OK
- Click OK againThe next time you get a BSOD, it will stay on the screen until you press
the reset button on your computer. Make a note of any relvant
information, and then report back to us here. Maybe we can find the
solution for you.

Well, no, because that function is added by either Roxio GoBack or
Norton GoBack.

Another post mentioned hardware problems.

Have you recently add more memory to the computer, or have you
attempted (rather foolishly) to overclock the CPU?

Hi, rpviet.

You're not doing badly for 14! ;<)

As you may have learned already, Vista's default behavior for "what to do on
system failure" is to "automatically restart". So Vista (like WinXP)
flashes the BSOD onscreen for just a moment, makes entries in the log, then
reboots before the user has time to do anything. For MANY computer
problems, this is a solution. (We all learned early in our computer
experience that many transient problems are solved by simply rebooting.)

But when the reboot doesn't fix the problem, we're left with no clues,
unless we can read minidumps and error logs. :>(

So, if you are the Administrator, and logged on as such, then go to System
Properties | Advanced system settings | Advanced | Startup and Recovery
Settings. Uncheck the box that says Automatically restart, then OK your way
out.

Next time the computer puts up a BSOD, it will halt and give you all the
time you need - until YOU power down or restart the computer - to read what
the BSOD is telling you. Copy it here - word for word - and someone should
be able to point you in the right direction.

The important part of the BSOD is the Stop Code, a hexadecimal number that
usually has a text code, too, like:
0x0000007B: INACCESSIBLE_BOOT_DEVICE

This often is followed by a row of 4 long hex numbers; those are very
important, too. Sometimes a specific driver or other information is
mentioned; this can be the most helpful part of the message. (There is also
some "generic" language about "If this is the first time..." We don't need
to see that again; we've seen it all many times.)

When you are ready to learn more of the technical stuff, you might want to
visit this website:
http://www.aumha.org/a/stop.htm

Good luck! And post back if you need further help.

This is a long shot, but did the BSODs start about the same time you
change your sound driver? Uninstall that driver to see if the perhaps
solves the problem.

Hi, rpviet.

In another post you mentioned a variety of BSOD messages - and sometimes no
stop code. That usually indicates problems with hardware, as djomlija
suggested, not software. A software problem often produces the same stop
code each time.

There are so many possibilities with hardware problems! Especially with
home-built rigs, like yours seems to be.

Start with physical connections, of course. Make sure all your PCI cards,
memory, etc., are seated properly. All cables in good condition and firmly
connected. Blow or wipe all the dust out of the case. Sometimes, simply
unplugging and replugging cables and cards can cure problems. Could you be
having electrical interference, from a TV or other appliance too close to
your computer? Or heat problems? (We don't know where in the world you
live, so we don't know if it is summertime there - or if it is wintertime
and you have an over-achieving heater.)

Bad memory can produce just about any kind of stop code. Have you run a
memory test recently?

Your first post said the BSODs started just 2 or 3 days ago. That raised
the obvious question: What happened to your computer about 3 days ago?

I'm not out of ideas, rpviet, but I'm out of time for now, and there are SO
MANY things to check. And we can't see or physically touch your computer.
All we can do is give you some things to try and hope that we - and you -
get lucky.
