Help, cannot sign in, fixes aren't working.

Hello,
Along with many others when I installed WLM 8 I am not able to connect.. the
buddy icon just spins away endlessly. I've tried the recent suggestions..
and still I spin on the taskbar *sniff*
I know that 7.5 still works, as well the web messenger is working. Just not
the one I want. Please help.

Yes, tried that this morning.. no luck. Any other suggestions?

Yes, try Jonathans fix. It worked. I was afraid to at first but decided
something had to give and it worked. Hey Jonathan, how come all this
happened on Friday the 13th? That is spooky. But thanks for the fix. Glad

what is the Reg fix I have looked all over to find out what to do about the
messenger not signing on it worked before and just wouldnt let me sign back
in yesterday and i left it on all day and it wont sign in just spins. Where
do I get the reg fix please help im not very good with computer language.

Hi,

It's the following -- shut down Messenger entirely by right-clicking on its icon in the
notification area and choosing Exit, then download and run this .reg file:
http://messenger.jonathankay.com/dow...grsettings.reg

Then try signing in again.

Will running this program in any way alter the existing MSN ....like loss of
emoticons or winks??? Or will it alter the computer itself in any other way?
