Hi, Melanie.
Good!
It is usually best to continue the same thread, rather than start a new
one - unless you want to change the Subject, of course.
Vista has several CD/DVD capabilities that earlier Windows versions did not.
I'm not an expert on them, and don't write to either CDs or DVDs very often.
But just a couple of days ago I made my first from-scratch movie DVD and did
it with no software except what is in Vista Ultimate. Well, maybe not
entirely from scratch; I started with a program that I recorded from
over-the-air TV (in HD) using Windows Media Center, then edited it with
Windows Movie Maker, then "published" it to DVD with Windows DVD Maker. ;<)
Much of the process depended on having the right hardware, of course (TV
tuner and DVD burner, plus fast CPU and plenty of RAM and hard disk space),
but no additional software was required. Except for LightScribe, to label
the completed DVD.
