Help with critical updates

For the past several days, I have been trying to get automatic microsoft
updates. I keep getting Error Code: 0x80131506 when the system is trying to
install the Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1 Service Pack 1. I've rebooted my
machine twice and I still get the error. What to do??? I am NOT computer
savy. Would appreciate help!

I followed the thred and tried downloading the software. I get the following
two errors:

Fatal Execution Error (I hit close)
then get
Registered JIT debugger is not available. An attempt to launch a JIT
debugger with the following command resulted in an error code of 0x2 (2).
Please check computer settings.
