Help on Display Name vs. Contact Card Name

My Contact Card name is no longer correct. Now it always displays "MF" even
though:
-my display name in WLM 8.0 (8.0.0812.00) is: JoeA
-my Live Spaces public profile name is: JoeB
yet if I have a conversation in WLMessenger, my display name is MF... I've
never set my display name or public profile display name as "MF"... how can
this be???

The only way to make it disappear or change is to add myself
"" as a contact in Windows Live Mail/Contacts. This seems
quite strange? My other account on hotmail (both of which are PAID for
accounts) does not have this strange problem... How can I reset this name
without having myself as a 'contact'?...

(same problem exists with the latest WLMessenger beta too)
