help with game download

Can someone please help me. I purchased a PC game and needed to
download new version of Directx to play the game. Now when I open the
game it says "ERROR- incorrect path to INI file" I have been unable to
find any information to help me correct this. Does anyone know? Please
email me at with any ideas.
