HELP HELP HELPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP ME CRYING OUT LOUD HELP MEEEEEEEEEEEE

okay here is the thing,am facing problem with windows update and i get this
error when ever i want to update (((((Error number: 0x8DDD0018)))) and i did
all the steps u could possibly think the service and click on automatic and
start it and stil nada ((nothing)) BESIDE my computer is really been acting
up latley its been so SLOW AM USING DSL and its slow so i figured out it
might be from NORTON ANTIVIRUS took it out cause ever since i download norton
is been so slow ....DOES anyone know a better program for anti-virs better
than norton and beside my pc started to act up i think cause i use program
and search for there keygen and bla bla u know so maybe thats why does anyone
happen to know any program that could clear the mess and protect my pc better
than norton and WHEN I use internet explorer i always have this ERROR PAGE I
FORMATED MY computer and got it fix and still recieve the same though i
download the new internet explorer 6 and still the same ...CAN ANYONE ANYONE

It would help us if you had mentioned what your operating system is: Windows
95, 98, SE, ME, NT, XP, other?

What were you tring to update?

For your info - many other negative comments in these newsgroups about
Norton so I would not recommend using it. I'm using McAffe with no problems.

Jerry oops my mistake am using WINDOWS XP HOME EDITION and i was looing for
new updates and thanks for the program u mentioned i will use it ...

(cool name!) Anyway, try to use correct grammar and punctuation. You have
just posted the second-longest, uninterrupted sentence I have ever seen. No
periods, commas, capitalization, nothing like any kind of punctuation! Wow!

You need to do some basic cleanup work on your system. Download and run
Ad-aware and Spybot Search and Destroy. Update them after they install so
you can get the latest definitions. You do not need to pay for anti-virus
protection. Norton does have some issues so I would suggest downloading a
product called AVG Anti-Virus Free Edition. Get it at www.grisoft.com. It
is totally free, no charge at all!

You also must run a firewall. You can get a perfectly good one, for free,
at www.zonelabs.com. It's called Zone Alarm. Download and install it,
updating it as soon as it is installed.

If you are trying to download and install the Service Pack 2 update there is
a lot of information on the Windows Update website. Your system needs to be
prepared to accept the update. Check it out.
