I am unsure which part of that is currently relevant and which
part is not. You need to more fully explain not only where you
are currently, but what got you there...

- What 'bad' thing did you do to your computer?
- What makes you think everything was lost?
- If you are sure it is gone, how did everything get erased?
- Were you able to restore anything from your backups?
- If you did not perform backups before - have you started doing
so now? If not - why not?

- What "won't let" you? What messages are you getting?
- Why SP2?
- Why Internet Explorer 7?
- How did you get to theis point even? Clean installation?
Repair installation? System Restore? Some sort of Recovery

(Home, Professional, Media Center, Tablet PC, etc.)
- What changes you have recently done to the machine.
- Exactly what you are doing when you experience the issue.
- Exact text of ANY error messages you receive.
