When I did my Windows Update, a driver update failed.

Unfortunately, he link for help re that failure is non-responsive. I'm
wondering if the link is no good just on my computer, or on the site. Has
anyone else had problems with help links from the update page?

A curious aspect is that (in "history of updates") two instances of the same
driver are shown, one of which is marked as successful, ie:

Windows XP Driver update for SiS 900 PCI Fast Ethernet Adapter FAILED
Windows XP Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0: x86 (KB829019) OK
Windows XP Driver update for SiS 900 PCI Fast Ethernet Adapter OK
Windows XP Win Malicious Software Removal Tool - May 2006 (KB890830) OK

I'm wondering if the two facts might be related, eg, if the driver update
failed on a first attempt, then was successful on retry, thus negating the
need for a working help link... anyone have any ideas please?

This is normally an indication that you have some third-party popup-blocker
(or a toolbar which also does popup-blocking)which is interfering with the
normal operation of Windows Update. Diable all third-party popup-blockers
and anti-malware applications before running Windows Update

Thank you Robin. I do have pop-ups enabled, and haven't had problems with
other links at the update site, only that one.

Would you suppose that the second, successful incidence of the driver update
is the same thing, and I can just forget it? As I said, details for both are
the same, including the date. Or do you know if there is a way to check?
