Does automatic update work if connected to AOL? If so,
do you have to be on a master sn in order for it to work?

What is "master sn"?

I am not sure about AOL, but it should work for Automatic Update.

However Microsoft is daily limiting those getting SP-2 through
Automatic Update.
You could get SP-2 tonight or days from now.
