Vista Enterprise x64, Backup to External USB Drive (500GB free space,
formated NTFS), Doing a file backup of Documents (5 GB on HD (my Documents))
only box checked.

Trying to configure Automatic Backups, which universally fails. The Backup
Files function fails with the following Message:

"The backup did not complete successfully.
An Error occurred. The following information might help you resolve the error:
If an MM error is returned which is not defined in the standard FsRtl
filter, it is converted to one of the following errors which is guranteed to
be in the filter. In this case information is lost, however, the filter
correctly handles the exception. (0xC00000EA) [CLOSE] "

Files are copied to the external drive, but the Automatic Backup is now
TURNED OFF, and listed as a failed backup. Details of failure is the same as
the message above.

Hi Tony,

Do you have any antivirus software installed?

Thanks,
Christine

Yes, I am running Computer Associates, eTrust Antivirus 64bit edition.
Version 7.1.197
Are there options to temporarily disable this during a Backup?

This is a known bug in etrust. Disabling scanning of zipped files would solve
the problem. To do that, right click on the eTrust icon in systray ->
“Realtime Options…” -> “Selection tab”->”Choose Types…” button at the bottom
right-> unselect “Zip”.

Thanks,
Christine
