That was my major complaint with SBS 08 backup/restore, the replacement
drive MUST be the same size or larger.
In the event of a server failure where we were testing on a 500GB RAID
setup, we faulted the array on purpose and were able to restore quickly
as our test, but, with only 100GB of data on the array we killed the
array, installed Dual 250GB drives and were NEVER able to restore the OS
to the system - that's a complete flaw/failure in my opinion.
1TB drives are cheap, just order a new one.
