HELP! no internet connection

I keep getting a box that says I have no internet connection. Would I like to
work offline or connect. I have DSL. How do I make this go away?

I did configure for the internet. I am using windows 98. The no internet
connection box shows up mainly in outlook express. I had installed msn
messenger and then started getting the message. I then uninstalled msn
messenger but am still getting the no internet connection error. Thank you
for your help.

Kristy,

Please do the following:
Open IE
Click Tools
Choose Internet Options
Click on Connections
Look at Dial up settings box

is there anything in there?
If there is then verify that the Never Dial a Connection is chosen.
